Terms & Conditions of Sale and Use
Effective date: 24 September 2026
1. Definitions and scope
In these Terms, "Unicentre", "we", "us" and "our" mean Unicentre Technology, Ubungo-Mawasiliano Bus Stand (Simu 2000), P.O Box 55040, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. "You" means the person or organisation buying from us or using this website. "Product" means any laptop, monitor, desktop computer (CPU or all-in-one), accessory, or other goods we sell. "Services" means repairs, servicing, and other technical work we carry out.
These Terms apply to every purchase from us, whether made through this website, WhatsApp, phone, email, or in person at our shop. Your receipt, quotation, job card, or Lipa MdoMdo plan may add specific terms. If they conflict with these Terms, the specific document applies to that transaction.
2. Who can buy
To buy from us you must be at least 18 years old, or buying with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you buy on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so, and these Terms bind that organisation.
3. Products and product information
Every Product is sold under one of the following grades, shown on the listing and on your receipt:
| Grade | What it means |
|---|---|
| Brand New | Unused, as supplied by the manufacturer or distributor. |
| Refurbished | Previously owned, then inspected and tested by us before sale. It may show light signs of use. |
| Used | Previously owned and sold in its current condition. It may show visible signs of use. |
We take care to describe and photograph Products accurately. Some photos are catalogue images of the model, not of the exact unit you will receive. Small differences in colour, cosmetic condition, packaging or included accessories do not make a Product faulty. Specifications (processor, memory, storage, screen) are as stated on your receipt. If what you receive does not match, tell us at once (see section 9).
Brand and product names belong to their manufacturers. We are an independent reseller and are not an authorised agent of, or endorsed by, any manufacturer unless we say so expressly. Our own warranty (section 10) applies to every Product we sell. Any separate manufacturer warranty is provided by that manufacturer on its own terms.
4. Pricing and availability
- All prices are in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS). Where VAT applies it is charged at the current statutory rate, and an EFD receipt is issued for every sale.
- Prices, promotions and stock availability can change without notice, and a listing on this website does not guarantee the item is in stock.
- If a Product is listed at a clearly wrong price, we may cancel the order before confirming it, even if you have been sent an acknowledgement. If you have already paid, we will refund you in full.
- Delivery charges, if any, are not included in the listed price and are confirmed with your order.
5. Placing and accepting orders
Placing an order on this website does not take payment. Your order is an offer to buy. Our team will contact you, usually by WhatsApp or phone, to confirm availability, the final price, delivery, and payment. A contract exists only when we confirm your order.
We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a Product is out of stock, a price or description was wrong, we cannot verify the order, or we suspect fraud. If you have paid for an order we cancel, we refund you in full. You can check the status of your order on the Track Order page.
For business or bulk orders we may issue a written quotation. A quotation does not reserve stock, and it is valid only for the period stated on it.
6. Payment
- We accept cash, mobile money, and bank transfer. Payment details are given to you when we confirm your order.
- Pay only into accounts in the name of Unicentre Technology that we give you directly. We will never ask you to pay into a personal account. If you are unsure, call us on the numbers in section 19 before paying.
- Keep your transaction reference. An order is paid only once we have received the funds.
7. Lipa MdoMdo (installment purchases)
Selected Products can be bought with Lipa MdoMdo: you pay a deposit and then the balance in installments.
- The installment price may be higher than the cash price. It is agreed with you and recorded when the plan starts.
- While the plan is open, we hold the Product for you and will not sell it to anyone else.
- The Product is normally handed over once the full price is paid. Any earlier handover is at our discretion. Until the plan is paid in full, the Product remains the property of Unicentre.
- Every payment is recorded against your plan, and you can ask for a statement at any time.
- If a plan is cancelled or not completed, the Product is returned to us. What happens to the money already paid is agreed with you and recorded in writing.
8. Delivery, collection, title and risk
You can collect your order from our shop, or ask us to deliver within Dar es Salaam and beyond. Delivery timelines and charges are confirmed with your order. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees.
Please inspect the Product when you receive it. Ownership (title) passes to you once we have received full payment. Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the Product is delivered to you, or to anyone you name to receive it, or when you collect it.
9. Returns and refunds
- Goods accepted on delivery or collection cannot be returned, and money received is non-refundable, except where these Terms say otherwise or the law requires it.
- Wrong or faulty on arrival: if the Product you receive is not what you ordered, or is faulty when it arrives, contact us before you use it further. We will exchange it or repair it under our warranty (section 10), and where we cannot, we will refund you.
- Any Product returned to us must come with its accessories, packaging and proof of purchase.
- Approved refunds are paid using the original payment method where possible.
10. Limited warranty
We warrant that every Product we sell will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the periods below, starting from the date on your receipt, unless your receipt states otherwise:
| Coverage | Brand New | Refurbished / Used |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware faults | 12 months | 3 months |
| Software issues | 6 months | 6 months |
| Battery | 1 month | 1 month |
What we will do
If a covered fault appears during the warranty period, we will repair or replace the faulty part or Product, at our option. Replacement parts may be new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability. The warranty does not give a right to a refund, except where the law requires one.
What is not covered
- Damage from drops, impact, liquids, fire, theft, negligence, misuse, or unauthorised modification or repair.
- Normal wear and tear, and cosmetic damage such as scratches and dents.
- Accessories such as chargers, bags and mice, unless your receipt says they are covered.
- Products whose serial number or warranty sticker has been removed, altered or tampered with.
- Loss or corruption of data, software and settings. Back up your data regularly.
How to make a claim
Bring or send the Product to our shop with your receipt as proof of purchase. How long a repair takes depends on whether parts are available, and we will keep you informed.
11. Repairs and services
When you leave a device with us, you receive a job card that records the device, the reported fault, and any quoted price. Repair work carries the warranty stated on your job card or receipt.
- Back up your data before you hand in a device. We are not responsible for data loss that happens during diagnosis or repair.
- Some work may be done by trusted specialist technicians working with us, under our responsibility.
- Please collect your device promptly once we tell you it is ready. Devices left uncollected for a long time may be handled as set out on your job card.
12. Customer accounts
You can create an account on this website, or sign in with Google, Facebook or LinkedIn. You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it. We may suspend accounts that are used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms.
13. Use of this website
You may use this website to browse, shop and manage your orders for your own lawful purposes. You must not:
- place false or fraudulent orders, or impersonate another person;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers, or other users' accounts;
- interfere with the website's operation, or introduce viruses or other harmful code;
- scrape, copy or collect content or data from the website by automated means without our written permission.
We try to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
14. Intellectual property and trademarks
The Unicentre Technology name and logo, and the design, text, and our own photographs on this website, belong to Unicentre Technology and may not be used without our permission. Other product names, brands and logos (such as those of laptop and accessory manufacturers) are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the Products we sell.
15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Except for the warranty in section 10 and any rights you have under law that cannot be excluded, Products and this website are provided "as is", and we make no other warranties, express or implied.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including loss of data, profits, revenue, business or opportunity, even if we were told such a loss was possible. Our total liability for any claim about a Product or Service is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
16. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Examples include natural disasters, power or network outages, shipping or customs delays, supplier shortages, strikes, and government action. If such an event affects your order, we will tell you and, where appropriate, offer a new date or a refund.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. If you have a concern, please contact us first. Most issues can be resolved quickly and directly. Any dispute we cannot resolve together will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania.
18. General
- Changes: we may update these Terms from time to time. The version on this page, with its effective date, applies to orders placed after that date.
- Severability: if any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Entire agreement: these Terms, together with your receipt, quotation, job card or Lipa MdoMdo plan, are the whole agreement between you and us for that transaction.
- Privacy: how we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
